Effective and last updated:
Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the Sọfúnmi apps, website and related services operated by Bryta Apps. By creating an account or using Sọfúnmi, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Who may use Sọfúnmi
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. Sọfúnmi is designed for adult self-study and does not offer child accounts. A parent or guardian is responsible for any permitted co-use by a minor and must not create a child profile or submit a child’s personal data.
Your account
Give accurate information, keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security. Accounts and subscriptions may not be sold or transferred without our written permission.
The learning service
Sọfúnmi provides speaking-led African-language lessons built around recordings from real native tutors and speakers. Courses, languages, features and availability may change as we improve the service. Learning results depend on your starting point, practice and circumstances; we do not guarantee a particular level of fluency by a particular date.
The service is for education and personal enrichment. It is not a certified translation, immigration, legal, medical, employment or academic-qualification service.
Subscriptions, renewals and refunds
Paid access is purchased through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Before purchase, the store shows the price, billing period, any trial, and applicable taxes in your region. Unless the store says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel through the same store account used to subscribe. Refunds are handled under that store’s rules.
Deleting your Sọfúnmi account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription. See the Subscription Terms for the current purchase and cancellation details.
Permitted use
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Sọfúnmi for lawful, non-commercial learning. You must not:
- copy, scrape, redistribute, sell or publicly perform lessons or tutor recordings;
- reverse engineer, bypass access controls or interfere with the service;
- use automation to create accounts, submit forms or place unreasonable load on systems;
- upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive or rights-infringing material;
- impersonate another person or use Sọfúnmi to harass, exploit or harm anyone.
Content and intellectual property
Sọfúnmi, its design, software, lessons, text, artwork and tutor recordings are owned by Bryta Apps or licensed to us and are protected by law. These Terms do not transfer that ownership. If you send feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, but we will not identify you publicly without permission.
Third-party services
Apple, Google and other providers may apply their own terms to sign-in, distribution, payments or linked services. BrytaAfrica is a separate African-stories service and has separate subscriptions and terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Sọfúnmi and delete your account at any time. We may restrict or end access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if the service is discontinued. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a chance to resolve the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep Sọfúnmi accurate, secure and available, but internet and mobile services can experience interruptions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim implied warranties that may lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bryta Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from Sọfúnmi. Our total liability for claims relating to paid use of Sọfúnmi will not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal or security changes. We will post the revised date and give additional notice when required. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. These Terms and the policies they reference are the entire agreement about Sọfúnmi, subject to mandatory law where you live.
